Why Hope Solo Is a Good Role Model

They told you she was too loud.
Too strong. Too difficult. Too much.

But maybe that’s exactly why
she’s the role model we needed.



Because girls don’t just need someone who smiles for the cameras.
They need someone who shows what it looks like to speak up —
even when it costs you.

They need to see that being emotional
doesn’t make you unstable.
It makes you human.
That standing your ground
doesn’t make you arrogant —
it makes you brave.



Hope Solo didn’t fit the mold.
She broke it.
And for every girl who’s ever felt too intense, too serious, too different…
she said:

“Be all of it.
Be you.
And don’t apologize.”

She’s not a polished fairy tale.
She’s a fighter.
A woman who fell, and got back up.
Again.

look elsewhere.

then Hope Solo is your model.

Not because she was flawless.

 Twee weken later. Twee maten, één maatpak? De bekerfinale ligt intussen twee weken achter ons. Maar de echo blijft. Stefania Vatafu kreeg toen een rode kaart die achteraf geen schorsing opleverde. Een stille erkenning: de scheidsrechter zat fout. Toch werd net na diezelfde finale een verslag opgesteld door diezelfde scheidsrechter. The final off the Svenska Cuppen will be Norrköping versus Hammarby. Two teams with very different histories, but both now knocking loudly at the door of silverware. For IFK Norrköping, their 2–1 victory over BK Häcken was nothing short of a statement.
