Zecira Mušović to Leave Chelsea After Four and a Half Memorable Years
Chelsea FC Women have confirmed that Zecira Mušović will leave the club at the end of the 2024/25 season. The Swedish goalkeeper joined the Blues in January 2021 from FC Rosengård and has since been part of a golden era, winning ten major trophies — including five Women’s Super League titles, three FA Cups, and two League Cups.
Mušović featured in 52 matches for Chelsea, keeping an impressive 27 clean sheets. Known for her commanding presence and calm leadership, she also became a fan favorite for her humility and heart, on and off the pitch.
In February 2025, Zecira announced her pregnancy, stepping away from first-team duties to begin a new chapter in her personal life. While Chelsea offered her a contract extension, she has decided not to renew and will move on when her current deal expires in the summer.
Reflecting on her time at the club, Zecira said:
"Before leaving Sweden to join Chelsea, I had many doubts. But with my amazing teammates, the fantastic staff, and our incredible fans, I found a new family. We've created so many memories together, and I've grown so much as a person during my time here. That's why it's hard to leave — but I also feel confident to start something new."
Chelsea thanked her for her contribution to the team’s culture and success and wished her the very best for what lies ahead. Her next destination has not yet been announced.
