 Ze draagt geen flitsende woorden. Geen grote gebaren. Maar wat Janice Cayman wél draagt, is gewicht – het gewicht van meer dan 150 interlands, van titels over heel Europa, van verantwoordelijkheid zonder schijnwerpers. Haar verhaal begint niet in Lyon of Madrid. Het begint in Tienen. Waar ze kampioen werd met de lokale trots. Waar het vuur ontstond. Daar werd de basis gelegd voor een carrière die landsgrenzen zou overschrijden – in klasse, in consistentie, in kracht. Janice is de Belgische recordinternational.
